Starting her career as a researcher for nearly four years, in the DBT supported all India project of enumeration of plants in the Western Ghats, Medhavi then turned to academics educating and providing experiential learning to the Masters students in the field of Biodiversity, in MES Abasaheb Garware College, Pune. Medhavi provided her assistance for the Western Ghats Ecology Expert Panel (WGEEP for Maharashtra) constituted by MOEFCC. From assisting the projects to coordinating them, she has come a long way and has acted as project coordinator for the biodiversity survey and enhancement project for the companies and ‘Green Audit’ for the institutions. In her experience of nearly two decades in the field of ecology, environment and biodiversity, she has worked as a consultant for Pune Knowledge Cluster, Reeds, The Ecological Solutions, Sahara Aamby Valley adventure Cell and Private farm house owners. With several research publications to her name, she is also involved in penning articles in the magazines and news papers. With the exposure and understanding of this field at various levels, Medhavi not only has guided several Masters students in their projects but also delivered talks on various topics in schools, colleges, corporate clubs and social organizations.

From representing India in Darwin Scholarship programme at the UK to being a member of IUCN SSC Western Ghats Plant Specialist Group, and performing a vital role in MOEFCC constituted Western Ghats Ecology Expert Panel (Maharashtra segment), Amruta has got many feathers in her cap and a vast work experience of nearly two decades in the field of Biodiversity and conservation. In her foundation years she has worked for various projects lead by the organizations like Center for Ecological Science, IISc (Bengaluru), Abasaheb Garware College (Pune) and RANWA (Pune) as a plant, biodiversity expert. A seasoned researcher and having many peer reviewed publications to her credit, Amruta has also acted as a consultant for Ecology, Environment and Livelihood projects for Pune Knowledge Cluster (PKC), Yojak, Reeds, Sahaydri Nisarg Mitra, The Ecological Solutions, township planners and private farm house owners. Striving to provide holistic sustainable solutions, she successfully completed ‘Lead Auditor Training course’ (ISO 14001:2001 Standard in Environment Management Systems) and CFI course on Environment Social Governance. Further, she is involved in conducting ‘Green Audits’ for various institutes in academic or industrial settings and also is an avid article writer for the Magazines and newspapers.
